Computer Science at Wings

Since September 2016,  WAHS has expended our offering of Computer Science (CS)  Educational courses to all WINGS' students.  From intro to AP courses such as AP Computer Science Principles, students have been able to learn and explore the 7 Big Ideas of CS:

  • Creativity
  • Abstraction
  • Data and Information
  • Algorithms
  • Programming
  • The Internet
  • Global Impact
Students have also been encouraged to apply their CS knowledge in the real world via paid and non-paid internships, as well as visits to some of the major tech companies and institutions in the world today including the following:  Facebook, OATH ( AOL and Yahoo), Microsoft, LinkedIn, BSE (Brooklyn Sports Entertainment; owners of Brooklyn Nets and Islanders), Goldman Sachs, Uber, Rent the Runway, Hired, Hunter College, and Harvard Business School.
